Cat Diseases

Feline disease are those infections or diseases that infect cats. Some of these cause symptoms, sickness or the death of the animal. Some of these are symptomatic in a cat but not in other cats. Some are opportunistic and tend to be more serious in cats that already have other sicknesses. Some of these can be treated and the animal can have a complete recovery. Others, like viral diseases, cannot be treated with antibiotics. This is because antibiotics are not effective against viruses.AspergilloisisAvian influenza in catsBladder cancer in cats and dogsBone cancer in cats and dogsCancer in catsCat flu, an upper respiratory tract infection, caused by:Bordetella bronchisepticaChlamydophila felisFeline calicivirusFeline viral rhinotracheitis (FVR)FHV-1Cat-scratch diseaseCat skin disordersCentral retinal degenerationCoccidiaCowpoxCryptosporidiosisCuterebriasisDiabetes in catsDirofilaria immitisDry eye syndromeEctopia lentisEosinophilic granulomaFeline acneFeline asthmaFeline cognitive dysfunctionFeline coronavirusFeline cystitisFeline cutaneous astheniaFeline distemperFeline foamy virusFeline hepatic lipidosisFeline hyperaldosteronismFeline hyperesthesia syndromeFeline hyperthyroidismFeline immunodeficiency virusFeline infectious anemiaFeline infectious peritonitisFeline leprosy syndrome caused by Mycobacterium lepraemuriumFeline leptosprosisFeline leukemia virusFeline lower urinary tract diseaseFeline lymphomaFeline odontoclastic resorptive lesionFeline panleukopeniaFeline sarcoma virusFeline spongiform encephalopathyFeline viral enteritisFlat-chested kitten syndromeFlea allergy dermatitisFlorida keratopathyHaemophilus felisHead pressingHeart valve dysplasiaHookworm infectionHypertrophic cardiomyopathyLeishmaniasisLuxating patellaLyme diseaseLymphocytopeniaMastocytomaMiliary dermatitisOtitis externa in animalsParagonimusPolyneuropathy in dogs and catsPortosystemic shuntProtothecosisPseudorabies (Morbus Aujeszky), originating from swinePsychogenic alopeciaPyometraRabiesRetinitis pigmentosaRickettsia felisSalmonellosisTetanusThelaziasisToxocara catiToxocariasisToxoplasma gondiiTritrichomonas blagburniTyzzer's diseaseVaccine-associated sarcoma
